Competence

Court of Arbitration for Sport deals with settling of disputes related to property rights and interests of individuals and legal entities involved in sport, including those arising from Articles of Association, rules, rules of procedure and/or other documents regulating activity of organizations for physical training and sport in staging of cups, championships and other sport events in the territory of the Russian Federation; disputes related to the definition of the status and transfers of athletes (players); disputes arising from agency services; disputes connected with sponsorship contracts; disputes related to rights to television broadcasts of sport events, or any other disputes arising in connection with contractual and civil-law obligations in physical culture activities and sports, unless laid down otherwise in the federal law.

Court of Arbitration for Sport is a body competent to settle disputes involving both Russian and foreign legal entities and individuals, which sets it advantageously apart from other specialized third-party courts.
