Panel of Mediators in Conciliation Proceedings at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

Legal Status

The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry traditionally has played a key role in developing and improving legislation regulating alternative settlement of disputes and has traditionally been a place where research has been going on and methodologies developed in this field.

The Panel of Mediators was instituted under the aegis of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry considering its above-mentioned functions and also in view of fact that it is an organization where the interests of all segments of the business community converge and which extends its influence across all areas of business.

The Panel of Mediators at the Russian CCI is an independent and permanent non-judicial institution for settling commercial disputes.

The Panel’s legal status is expressly outlined in the Rules of Procedure of Mediation Conducted through a Mediator, which were approved by the President of the Russian CCI in his Order No. 32 on May 12, 2006.
